Hi, I’m Lisa.
The calligrapher, designer, and worker bee behind every single piece that leaves Fancy Bee.
I started Fancy Bee Calligraphy because I believed special events deserved better than mismatched paper goods and signage that almost — but not quite — went together. I wanted to be the person who handled all of it, from the first invitation a guest pulls from their mailbox to the welcome sign they walk past on the way to their seats.
Every piece I create includes my 100% hand-lettered calligraphy.
Trained in the Art; Obsessed with the details
I’ve trained with some of the best calligraphers working today, honing my skills in both modern and traditional Copperplate styles. But technique is only part of what I bring to every project. The other part is an almost unreasonable attention to detail — the kind that notices when an ink color is two shades off from your bridesmaid dresses, or when a font feels slightly too casual for the venue you’ve chosen.
That instinct is what makes Fancy Bee different from ordering a template or hiring separate vendors for your invitations and signage. When one person designs and letters everything, it all belongs together. Because it is.
What I Can Do For You
I work with all couples from the very beginning of the stationery process through the last detail of the reception — invitation suites, envelope addressing, wedding signage, place cards, and menus for wedding parties and beyond.
If you can picture calligraphy on it, I’ve probably lettered it. And if I haven’t, I’d love to try!
Based in Topeka, Available Beyond
Fancy Bee is rooted in Topeka, Kansas, and I’m proud to serve all couples thoughout the region. Digital suite delivery means I can work with couples anywhere — your guests receive a beauitfully designed invitation in their inbox no matter where they’re celebrating.
